Why Belvento
Belvento began with a simple idea:
motion can be beautiful.

Ceiling fans present a unique opportunity
to bring that into a room.

The work explores a different approach—rethinking the ceiling fan as something more sculptural and experiential, drawing inspiration from motion found in nature.
Noticing Motion
You see it in simple things—fire, water, wind.
Patterns that are constantly changing, yet calming to watch.

We're drawn to it early.

Even something as familiar as a ceiling fan can mesmerize a child.

Over time, we stop noticing.

Belvento began as an exploration of that idea—not how to make a better fan, but how to make motion worth noticing again.
Our Approach
Each piece begins with motion.

Not as an added feature,
but as the foundation of the design.
A continuous, evolving movement that brings a space to life.

Form and material follow—shaped to support that motion and allow it to be experienced over time.

The result is a presence that can be both ambient and absorbing—something you can live with, or simply sit and watch.
Founder
Belvento was founded by John Mark Fowler.

With a background in mechanical engineering, his work sits at the intersection of motion, structure, and form.

The idea for Belvento grew from a simple observation: that we are naturally drawn to motion, yet rarely notice it in our homes.

Each piece reflects an effort to bring that awareness back—combining precision with a more quiet, experiential approach to design.
The name Belvento comes from the Italian word meaning beautiful wind -
a reflection of both the intent behind the work and the personal
connection to its origin.
